India Month 1
Hello all!
It seems like my first month in India has flown by so so fast! It has not all been easy, and many things here are very different from in America. For example, it is much harder to get into a school here than in America, and it is equally hard to get a Visa confirmation. For me the visa only required a $40 bribe to handle, but admission to the school that i wanted cost almost 12000 rupees more then the regular price of attendance (3000 rupees or about $75).
The first two weeks were the hardest mainly because of the visa and school. now that i have gotten settled in and have all the essential stuff sorted out life is going quite smoothly.
The other exchange students here in Nagpur are Felix (Germany), Donald (Germany), and Hannah Britney who are both from the US. They are all really cool and great fun to hangout with.
I dont have access to a computer unless i come to the apple store (the only one in a city of 2.4 million) but i now have access to facebook on my phone, so if you want to contact me there fell welcome to.
I have been unable to upload photos onto this website due to lack of java software on the computers here, but i have uploaded some photos to facebook, which you can view at this link (http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150266549222691.330473.712262690&l=ae3418d523&type=1 )

Hello all!
This is the first time i have been able to use a computer that is capable of opening my blog which explains my lack of posts over the last 5 days. all my flights went pretty well considering it was my first transcontinental flight alone. A complication that arose when i arrived in Mumbai where i should have received my luggage before taking it to Nagpur was that somewhere between Burlington Vermont, Dullas Washington, and Dubai the airline managed to lose my luggage. after some very crazy time spent talking to airport personnel and some very helpful English speaking Indians i got a lost luggage receipt which i pursued very actively until yesterday to my great relief i received my luggage. other than that ordeal, my stay has been pretty good so far. the food is quite good, and i find that to my dull american taste buds it can be overwhelming at times. starting on the 18th i got very sick from eating some kind of pastry that my body didnt like, but now i am recovering and my new diet of rice and tea is doing very well to get me back up to strength after lying in bed sweating for 30 hours.
My host family is awesome! I have a younger host brother who is 16 and a host grandma who lives with my family. sometimes it is a struggle to understand people, but im fairing pretty well. my ability to access this computer is limited so far, so my updates may come every 10-15 days, but i will do my best to keep you up to date. I also dont know if this computer is capable of uploading images (due to the faulty internet connection) but ill put an update once i know for sure if it doesnt work. until then ill keep taking pictures and make sure to have my rotary smile on :D
